The portal
The forest at home is soft and mossy. Baby Fawn stands where the light gathers between the trees. A portal glows — not scary, just bright enough to step through.
On the other side: The Samurai Forest.
Mist hangs between pines. Somewhere a raven waits like it already knows a story. Fawn keeps two arms and two legs. She does not become a warrior. Only the world changes. She stays herself.
Soft courage at kid volume
In the Samurai Forest, courage is not loud.
It is sitting still long enough to hear a raven finish.
It is listening before you speak.
It is trying again when your hands shake a little.
It is noticing mist, careful footsteps, the way practice looks like love if you watch closely.
Fawn learns one small thing. Then she goes home through the same soft light she came from.
You can say this out loud at lights-out:
“Fawn walks into The Samurai Forest — soft courage at kid volume.”
For bedtime (no iPad required)
When the glowing rectangle wants another round, try this instead:
- Five-minute warning they can see.
- Warm, low light. Phone stays in the kitchen.
- One short portal story — this one, or any Fawn visit.
- One soft song if they need sound without a feed.
- Same goodbye. Same door.
Boredom is the feature. A ritual you keep beats a perfect speech you only give once.
